London & Paris: 3 Libraries I Plan on Visiting This Holiday Season
My parents live near Paris, France and my brother lives in London which means that I usually get to spend Christmas and New Year in one of those cities. This year I get to spend time in both and I thought I would take some time to visit or actually revisit three libraries.
- The Biblioteque Nationale de France which has several locations in Paris. When I was in graduate school I actually did get to go and do research at the François-Mitterrand Library. There are a couple of interesting looking exhibits going on there and I would like to get over there again.
- When I am in London I hope to stop by the British Library and go in the gift shop and the children’s literature exhibit but maybe check out some of the other exhibits.
- Finally in early January I am helping to run a program for children at The American Library in Paris where my Mom is a volunteer and since I am a librarian I get to run the program. I am super-excited but a little concerned because children’s programming isn’t something that I do in my every day life. This is also the library I grew up visiting so I am excited to go back as a grown up and give something back.
