I also saw it advertised on the jobs website of the University and on <a href=\"http:\/\/www.lisjobnet.com\/\">LISJOBNET<\/a> a UK based jobsite provided by the Chartered Institute of Library and Information Professionals <a href=\"http:\/\/www.cilip.org.uk\/Pages\/default.aspx\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">(CILIP)<\/a><\/p>\n<p><b>Naomi: <\/b>Favorite library you have been to?<br \/>\n<b>Christina: <\/b>Liverpool Central Library, the largest of the public libraries in Liverpool, England. Based in the City Centre it is housed in several historic Grade II listed buildings on William Brown Street. A virtual tour of the library is available &#8211; <a href=\"http:\/\/www.virtualtours360.net\/vtupload\/liverpool\/centrallibrary\/centrallibrary.html\">http:\/\/www.virtualtours360.net\/vtupload\/liverpool\/centrallibrary\/centrallibrary.html<\/a><\/p>\n<p>My favourite part of the library is the Picton Reading room, housed in the Picton Library and built in 1875-9. It was the first public building in Liverpool to be lit by electric lighting and symbolises the legacy of the City\u2019s merchant history.<\/p>\n<p><b>Naomi: <\/b>Favorite book?<br \/>\n<b>Christina: <\/b><a href=\"http:\/\/www.amazon.com\/gp\/product\/1608871118\/ref=as_li_qf_sp_asin_il_tl?ie=UTF8&amp;camp=1789&amp;creative=9325&amp;creativeASIN=1608871118&amp;linkCode=as2&amp;tag=i0fe1-20\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Seeds: Time Capsules of Life<\/a> by Robert Kessler. He has many similar books and I used to love flicking through them in my old job. They have wonderful illustrations of seeds, pollen and fruit.<\/p>\n<p><b>Naomi: <\/b>Favorite thing about libraries\/ library technology?<br \/>\n<b>Christina: <\/b>I love how libraries are always changing. It is never a boring job as there is always something new to try out and improve your services.<\/p>\n<p><b>Naomi: <\/b>Any websites or feeds or blogs we should be following?<br \/>\n<b>Christina: <\/b>All of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.jiscmail.ac.uk\/\">JISCMAIL<\/a> lists have been invaluable in keeping up-to-date with the information\/library field. It also has jobs posted to many of the lists.<\/p>\n<p><b>Naomi: <\/b>Best piece of job hunting advice?<br \/>\n<b>Christina: <\/b>Twitter is really good for locating jobs. There are many lists and also people posting jobs they have come across.<\/p>\n<p><em>I am taking up a new post of Subject Librarian for Business, Health &amp; Education at Anglia Ruskin University. My first library post was as a<a href=\"https:\/\/inalj.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/01\/christinah2.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\" wp-image-6098 alignright\" src=\"https:\/\/inalj.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/01\/christinah2.jpg\" alt=\"christinah2\" width=\"274\" height=\"183\" srcset=\"https:\/\/inalj.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/01\/christinah2.jpg 457w, https:\/\/inalj.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/01\/christinah2-300x200.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 274px) 100vw, 274px\" \/><\/a> Trainee Library Assistant at the National Health Service (NHS) and since then I have completed a <a href=\"Masters in Information &amp; Library Management at Liverpool John Moores University\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Masters in Information &amp; Library Management at Liverpool John Moores University<\/a>. I have spent the past 6 years working as Subject Librarian for the School of Sport, Equine and Animal Science at Writtle College (A Partner of the University of Essex) and I have provided consultancy work for the online information service Intute.
