We need to think of these aspects as necessities and not ignore their importance.\u00a0 We need to take care of ourselves and make sure those in our lives are actively appreciating and helping us through this process.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>Job hunters need a buddy or <a href=\"https:\/\/inalj.com\/?p=57578\" target=\"_blank\">a team<\/a>!<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>I understand that not everyone has people around them like that, and that is why the internet can be so great!\u00a0 Here are some tips on cultivating and finding online buddies and teams that will help, not hinder your job hunt.\u00a0 Positivity ftw!<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>Find a Community<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">One of the main rules of the INALJ social media groups is positivity and being constructive.\u00a0 Some people treat the internet like a giant paper back to just scream into whether it is in anger, snarkiness, sadness, bitterness, or they just are jerks as soon as they have access.\u00a0 I won&#8217;t let those people engage with my community members because job hunters need a safe space to ask for help, to ask questions and to seriously buckle down and find jobs to apply to.\u00a0 I also belong to many other social media groups and recommend the following:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>INALJ:<\/strong> We are on <a href=\"https:\/\/inalj.com\/?p=57578\" target=\"_blank\">Facebook<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/needalibraryjob\" target=\"_blank\">Twitter<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.linkedin.com\/groups?gid=4112382\" target=\"_blank\">LinkedIn<\/a> but it is our <a href=\"https:\/\/www.linkedin.com\/groups?gid=4112382\" target=\"_blank\">LinkedIn community<\/a> that we steer people towards in order for them to ask questions and get answers.\u00a0 Though anyone can join, it is a\u00a0 private group and comments are moderated.\u00a0 I made it private so that search engines can&#8217;t scrape it and post your questions publicly in their results.\u00a0 I moderate because you should be able to have a safe space to ask questions in.\u00a0 I believe this strongly.<\/li>\n<li>My <a href=\"inalj.com\/?p=1369\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>Top 5 LinkedIn Groups<\/strong><\/a> for Job Seekers:\u00a0 I have found camaraderie and friendship in several jobs specific LinkedIn groups for librarians; LIS Career Options, Librarians in the Job Market, Librarianship Job Search and Careers (subgroup of ALA), and Librarian Alternatives.\u00a0 These are the ones I joined but there are others.\u00a0 Search LinkedIn for more.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Browse first<\/strong>: take the temperature and tone of any group you consider joining first before launching yourself into the discussions.\u00a0 This way you will know if it fits your needs for positivity and constructive criticism.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>Join an Association &amp;
