\nEmily:<\/strong>\u00a0 I found my current position by scouring the listservs as well as the state postings, including the Kentucky Department for Libraries and Archives<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Naomi:\u00a0 <\/strong>Favorite library you have been to?
\nEmily:\u00a0 <\/strong>Although it seems quite predictable, the Library of Congress<\/a> is unforgettable. \u00a0The systems that have been in place for decades combine with a customer service ethic that makes the library what it is today.<\/p>\n

Naomi:<\/strong>\u00a0 Favorite book?
\nEmily:\u00a0 <\/strong>“Sometimes a Great Notion<\/a>“<\/em> by Ken Kesey<\/p>\n

Naomi:\u00a0 <\/strong>Favorite thing about libraries\/ library technology?
\nEmily:\u00a0 <\/strong>I am a public services person. \u00a0I love the personal connection, assisting patrons (in my case, students) with needs that immediately affect their quality of life.<\/p>\n

Naomi:<\/strong>\u00a0 Any websites or feeds or blogs we should be following?
\nEmily:\u00a0 <\/strong>There are a number of terrific library-specific blogs; however, my best advice is to stay attuned to the greater world. \u00a0Follow the major news outlets (BBC is my favorite) and utilize all the popular social media options. \u00a0Some of my best ideas have come from Morning Edition on NPR <\/a>or a local news story.<\/p>\n

Naomi:\u00a0 <\/strong>Best piece of job hunting advice?
\nEmily:\u00a0 <\/strong>Stay positive, stay open, stay humble. \u00a0Opportunities are out there if you are willing to learn, adapt, and work your way up.<\/p>\n
