Even the best of us run out of ideas or can use a little inspiration every now and then. Not to mention the fact that it can be quite intimidating for new (and not so new) librarians to face down a room full of toddlers and their parents. Lucky for use there is a plethora of wonderful resources out there to help us. Here is a list of just a few to get you started.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<p dir=\"ltr\"><a href=\"http:\/\/melissa.depperfamily.net\/blog\/?page_id=519\" target=\"_blank\">Mel&#8217;s Desk<\/a>\u00a0&#8211; An awesome blog full of story time, craft, and flannel board ideas plus a list of other great resources.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p dir=\"ltr\"><a href=\"http:\/\/midhudson.org\/program\/ideas\/Story_Hour.htm\" target=\"_blank\">Mid-Hudson Library System Story Hour Resources<\/a>\u00a0&#8211;\u00a0A great resource for not only story time ideas and resources, but story time how-to&#8217;s as well.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p dir=\"ltr\"><a href=\"http:\/\/sillylibrarian.com\/blog\/\" target=\"_blank\">Silly Librarian<\/a> (formerly <a href=\"http:\/\/sillylibrarian.wordpress.com\/storytime-resources\/\" target=\"_blank\">Silly Librarian Storytime Snapshot<\/a>) &#8211;\u00a0Another great blog full of ideas for programs.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p dir=\"ltr\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.clel.org\/content\/online-resources-planning-baby-storytimes\" target=\"_blank\">Colorado Libraries for Early Literacy: Online Resources for Planning Baby Storytimes<\/a> &#8211;\u00a0This site has not been updated in a while, but it still has some great resources specifically aimed at baby story times.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p dir=\"ltr\"><a href=\"http:\/\/storytimekatie.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">storytime katie<\/a>\u00a0&#8211;\u00a0A well organized blog with all kinds of wonderful story time info.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p dir=\"ltr\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.hcpl.net\/cgi-bin\/ebranch\/story_time\/browse.pl\" target=\"_blank\">Harris County Public Library Story Time Ideas<\/a>\u00a0&#8211;\u00a0A list of story time programs with target age suggestions. It also includes some bi-lingual programs.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p dir=\"ltr\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.preschoolexpress.com\/music_station.shtml\" target=\"_blank\">Music &amp; Rhyme Station<\/a>\u00a0&#8211;\u00a0This website is full of songs for children organized by themes.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p dir=\"ltr\"><a href=\"http:\/\/edresources.treesforlife.org\/projects\/storybook-dvd.html\" target=\"_blank\">The Art of Reading a Storybook<\/a>\u00a0&#8211;\u00a0This is a series of videos that cover all aspects of selecting and reading a story as well as managing a story time program.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p dir=\"ltr\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.rif.org\/kids\/leadingtoreading\/en\/babies-toddlers\/finger-plays.htm\" target=\"_blank\">Reading is Fundamental<\/a>\u00a0&#8211;\u00a0Among other things, this website has some great finger plays of common toddler songs.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p dir=\"ltr\"><a href=\"http:\/\/talkstorytogether.org\/storytime\/ideas\" target=\"_blank\">Talk Story<\/a>\u00a0&#8211;\u00a0A database of Asian Pacific American, American Indian, and Alaskan Native story time themed programs.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p dir=\"ltr\"><a href=\"http:\/\/slisallied.wordpress.com\/creating-storytimes\/\" target=\"_blank\">Allied Drive Literacy Time: Creating Storytimes<\/a>\u00a0&#8211;\u00a0This website not only lists resources for finding kids books, songs, and crafts for creating great story times but it also has a short list of books for story time planning.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p dir=\"ltr\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.madisonpubliclibrary.org\/kids\/other-storytime-resources\" target=\"_blank\">Flannel Board Resources<\/a>\u00a0&#8211;\u00a0A list of some great resources for creating flannel boards.
