How Many Librarians Does It Take to Change a Light Bulb?<\/span><\/h3>\n

\"marymichelle1\"<\/a>Recently, I came across a rather unusual submission requirement mentioned on an INC.com blog; it was a short video segment<\/a> with Jennifer Walzer, CEO of Backup My Info. In the video she explains that they ask applicants to submit a joke along with their resume and cover letter. Asking for a joke serves a twofold purpose. First<\/strong> it is to see if applicants can read the submission directions and act on them appropriately. The second<\/strong> is to get an idea of the applicant\u2019s sense of humor \u2013 is it work appropriate, would it fit in with the company\u2019s culture, is this someone they\u2019d want to work with?<\/p>\n

So, in case libraries start to adopt this additional requirement, I\u2019ve found five great library-related jokes for you to use in your job hunt. Please include your favorite potential joke submission in the comments below.<\/p>\n
