\"achamberlin\"<\/a>Naomi:\u00a0 <\/b>How did you find your current job?
\nAdrienne:<\/b>\u00a0 It was timing, really. Last fall, I had a freelance writing job going, was tutoring student essays online, and working in retail at the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston. The founder and director of NHC came into my shop inquiring about a book, and we began a discussion about his work. He needed a researcher for some of his projects, and I added that to my other work. From there the position has evolved into a full-time role as Producer.<\/p>\n

Naomi:\u00a0 <\/b>Favorite library you have been to?
\nAdrienne:<\/b>\u00a0 A few years ago I attended a seminar in the UK, through a program coordinated with UNC- Chapel Hill and UCL in London. We visited the Bodleian Library, which was amazing!<\/p>\n

Naomi:\u00a0 <\/b>Favorite book?
\nAdrienne:<\/b>\u00a0 I love almost everything by Margaret Atwood. Neil Gaiman has become a recent favorite. Extremely difficult question! If only I had more time to read everything on my TBR list\u2026<\/p>\n

Naomi:\u00a0 <\/b>Favorite thing about libraries\/ library technology?
\nAdrienne:<\/b>\u00a0 The public library is my favorite kind of library. Where else can you have access to all kinds of information online, and then are trusted to take home books and movies to enjoy for free? I especially love older, smaller ones like the one for which I volunteered years ago.<\/p>\n

Naomi:\u00a0 <\/b>Any websites or feeds or blogs we should be following?
\nAdrienne:<\/b>\u00a0 I haven\u2019t been able to keep up with too many blogs or websites in the past year, but I recommend CAREEREALISM as a great place for advice on personal branding, resumes, interviews, networking, cover letters \u2013 you name it. It\u2019s not geared for librarians, but it has very good ideas and tips about marketing yourself for the job you want.<\/p>\n

Naomi:\u00a0 <\/b>Best piece of job hunting advice?
\nAdrienne:<\/b>\u00a0 Set up job alerts in places like indeed.com (and use different terms \u2013 information management, knowledge management, librarian, etc.) Learn as much as you can from every job you have, if you\u2019re working someplace other than a library. You\u2019re probably using your skills in some way, and you can use that on your resume.<\/p>\n

Adrienne was recently hired full-time as a Producer at the documentary film production company NHC GROUP MEDIA, LLC. She decided to become a librarian after watching the film, Desk Set, deciding that working in research\/reference would be a great job. While she didn\u2019t see a career in film production in her path, she is excited to be part of the development of this new company, creating documentaries as you have never seen them before!<\/i><\/p>\n

In addition to her myriad duties as producer, Adrienne is in charge of the social media aspect of NHC.
