Meet Amy Smith: INALJ Alabama Assistant Editor and Circulation Supervisor at Troy University in Montgomery, AL<\/b><\/p>\n

\"AmySmith\"<\/a>Rachael: <\/b>Favorite Library you have been to?
\nAmy: <\/b>Alden Library<\/a> at Ohio University. Ohio University also has a Music & Dance Library<\/a>, which is really awesome and unique.<\/p>\n

Rachael: <\/b>Favorite book?
\nAmy: <\/b>I have very little time for pleasure reading, but I enjoy the children\u2019s books I get to read to my kids. A few of our favorites are Clifford, Good Night Moon, and Love from My Heart to a Precious Little Girl: Weimer, Heidi R.<\/p>\n

Rachael: <\/b>Favorite website\/blog?
\nAmy: <\/b>A favorite blog of mine is Tribal Wife<\/a>\u2014a missionary friend of mine chronicles her family\u2019s life working as Tribal Missionaries in Papua New Guinea.<\/p>\n

Rachael:<\/b> Favorite thing about libraries\/library technologies?
\nAmy<\/b>: There is always something new to learn about and use.<\/p>\n

Rachael:<\/b> You have been working in libraries for a number of years–what positions have you held? How did you get these jobs?
\nAmy: <\/b>I have been working at a Troy University in Montgomery for 7 years now as the Circulation Supervisor.\u00a0 I found the position in a local job advertisement, and applied with no previous experience or any clue what I would be doing.\u00a0 To say the least, I had no idea what I was getting myself into!\u00a0After a number of years, I decided this was meant to be my career path in life. I graduated in May 2013 with my MLIS from the University of Southern Mississippi.\u00a0 I am looking forward to working as a Librarian and taking on new challenges to enhance my skills and abilities within the field.<\/p>\n

\"ra\"<\/a>Rachael: <\/i><\/b>Best piece of job hunting\/career advice?
\nAmy:<\/b> Remember to be open-minded and apply for positions you\u2019re interested in.\u00a0 Be Yourself.\u00a0 Don\u2019t have regrets, if you don\u2019t apply, you\u2019ll never know what the outcome could have been.<\/p>\n
