\"natasad\"<\/a>Naomi:<\/b>\u00a0 How did you find your current job?
\nNatasa:<\/b>\u00a0 I found my job through an Indeed.com<\/a> search. I was very thrilled to be offered my current position. My dream was to work as a Librarian in an academic setting. I now work at a career training college as a Librarian \/ Instructor, and it is wonderful! I really enjoy working with both students and faculty.<\/p>\n

Naomi:<\/b>\u00a0 Favorite library you have been to?
\nNatasa:<\/b>\u00a0 My favorite library that I have been to is the National Library of Greece in Athens<\/a>. I was not able to go inside the library at the time, but it was beautiful to look it.\u00a0 So far, my favorite library, that I have been able to utilize, is the Public Library of Cincinnati and Hamilton County<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Naomi:<\/b>\u00a0 Favorite book?
\nNatasa:<\/b>\u00a0 A Confederacy of Dunces<\/i><\/a> by John Kennedy Toole<\/p>\n

Naomi:<\/b>\u00a0 Favorite thing about libraries\/ library technology?
\nNatasa:<\/b>\u00a0 Libraries connect the User to Information in various ways. These ways are through face-to-face interactions and virtual \/ digital \/ technological means. I greatly enjoy Digital Libraries. I appreciate Integrated Library Systems that allow user-friendly search and retrieval of information. I am also very excited about Resource Description and Access (RDA).<\/p>\n

Naomi:<\/b>\u00a0 Any websites or feeds or blogs we should be following?
\nNatasa:<\/b>\u00a0 I follow a variety of sites and blogs that help me stay current in emerging trends, library and information science, and education.\u00a0 Some of these include: http:\/\/readwrite.com\/<\/a> , http:\/\/www.davidleeking.com\/<\/a>, http:\/\/lj.libraryjournal.com\/<\/a>, and http:\/\/blog.cengage.com\/?page_id=110<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Naomi:<\/b>\u00a0 Best piece of job hunting advice?
\nNatasa:<\/b>\u00a0 Never, ever give up or \u201crest on your laurels.\u201d Always network and accept help! Also, volunteer, intern, and \/or apprentice someplace that will help you gain experience and insights that will help you stand out from other people. This place (s), by no means, has to be in a library setting. However, having “library” experience will help you get a library related job.
\nNonetheless, schools of Library and Information Science keep current with desired skill sets, and these skills are highly transferable into other professions \/ roles.<\/p>\n

Stay current in technologies, trends, and educate yourself to be tech savvy. \u00a0\u00a0It can get exhausting, but hard work does pay off! I applied to an average of 3 jobs \/ week until I landed the job I really wanted.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
