\"kristend\"<\/a>Naomi:<\/b>\u00a0 How did you find your current job?
\nKristen:<\/b>\u00a0 I found my job by browsing the INALJ list for Florida<\/a>, late one night. It was not listed on any major library job sites.<\/p>\n

Naomi:<\/b>\u00a0 Favorite library you have been to?
\nKristen:<\/b>\u00a0 New York Public Library- they house most of the original stuffed animals from Winnie the Pooh.<\/a><\/p>\n

Naomi:<\/b>\u00a0 Favorite book?
\nKristen:<\/b>\u00a0 It\u2019s a tie between \u201cThe Time Traveler’s Wife<\/a>\u201d and \u201cThe Hobbit<\/a>\u201d.<\/p>\n

Naomi:<\/b>\u00a0 Favorite thing about libraries\/library technology?
\nKristen:<\/b>\u00a0 The way they can help people learn new things either in person or virtually. A library can serve so many functions, from helping someone learn to send an email, find a job, or just find a good book to read.<\/p>\n

Naomi:<\/b>\u00a0 Any websites or feeds or blogs we should be following?
\nKristen:<\/b>\u00a0 The Annoyed Librarian<\/a>!<\/p>\n

Naomi:<\/b>\u00a0 Best piece of job hunting advice?
\nKristen:<\/b>\u00a0 Don’t take a break from job hunting, and apply even if you aren’t sure you have enough experience.\u00a0 As long as you have the required degree you should apply.<\/p>\n

Kristen started at Daytona State College in January 2013 as the new Circulation Services Librarian.\u00a0 She previously worked at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University Hunt Library while attending graduate school at FSU<\/a> to obtain her Master\u2019s degree in Library and Information Studies<\/a>.\u00a0\u00a0 She is originally from Pennsylvania, but has moved all over the country to attend school, finally ending up with a Bachelor\u2019s of Science degree in Geology and Paleontology from the University of New Orleans.\u00a0 She spends most of her free time walking her two Welsh Corgis and rescuing turtles.\u00a0 She is also a volunteer with Sunshine Welsh Corgi Rescue.<\/em><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
