New York, the state<\/span><\/h3>\n
\"Pam-9072-600pix\"<\/a>Several weeks has flown by! I’m delighted that Naomi shared the opportunity with me to be a state page editor, and I’m thankful to all the volunteers and visitors helping me improve every day.<\/div>\n

New York is a pretty big state, and it’ll take us a little while to find all the best places to keep looking, so stay tuned for more resources! I’m proud to be networking with people from around the varying regions who have local expertise–this will increase our volume, accuracy and efficiency with timely, relevant leads no matter where you want to be.<\/div>\n

Living in Upstate and having a background in education, I also know this is a pretty good time of year to be exploring leads for next academic year. While many institutions are experiencing painful cuts, there will still always be a need somewhere (for the expertise of a library person). Our challenge is to find the need and be ready to meet it in creative ways.<\/div>\n

 <\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Be patient with yourselves, us, and the process…sometimes it takes a while to land that perfect gig, and it may just be packaged in less traditional wrapping. Please also remember that since we’re so big, New York City has its own page with lots of additional opportunities, too! I invite you to share your suggestions and frustrations with me so we can continue to grow through this experience. I’d like to post every couple of weeks on topics of interest, so let me know what you’d most like to read. Thanks, have fun, and good luck!<\/div>\n
