So this features the book as a means by which to evolve genres. Mr. Chung then goes on to say he is not interested in the topic and that he is doing it for the money. Rocky relocated to Alcum, California preaching to the lost and desperate.&#8221;<br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #ffffff; text-decoration: underline;\">\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><br \/>\n<\/em><em>\u201cSeeking the truth about aliens means a perfunctory 9 to 5 job to some, for although Agent Diane Lutsky is noble of spirit and pure at heart she remains nonetheless a federal employee. In it he calls my arrival the dawn of the super hero. I am not sure what that means<\/em>.\u201d<br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #ffffff; text-decoration: underline;\">\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 <\/span><br \/>\n\u201cUnder the Hood\u201d is a fictional non-fiction autobiography. This book details the crime fighting of a costumed hero. What we know is that the book coins at least one concept to include in the vernacular of the day \u201cthe dawn of the super hero.\u201d<br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #ffffff; text-decoration: underline;\">\u00a0\u00a0 <\/span><br \/>\nThe colorful enigmatic book jacket grabs the attention of potential readers for those interested in history and the social sciences.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ol start=\"3\">\n<li><strong>\u201cThe Corpse Danced at Midnight\u201d by J. B. Fletcher<\/strong><br \/>\n(Murder, She Wrote Television Series, 1984)<br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #ffffff; text-decoration: underline;\">\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><br \/>\n<a href=\"https:\/\/inalj.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/12\/3-koval.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft wp-image-101636\" src=\"https:\/\/inalj.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/12\/3-koval.jpg\" alt=\"3 koval\" width=\"129\" height=\"167\" \/><\/a>Featured throughout the series and made into a movie within the\u00a0series, so double-duty as fake tv book and fake movie adaptation.<br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #ffffff; text-decoration: underline;\">\u00a0\u00a0 <\/span><br \/>\nThe main character Jessica Fletcher\u2019s 1<sup>st<\/sup> novel is \u201cThe Corpse Danced at Midnight\u201d and is part of a series of novels. Ms. Fletcher is a retired English teacher who became a bestselling mystery writer\/novelist with a good eye for detail who lives in a small town with a very high murder rate and when vacationing also seems to find murder.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ffffff; text-decoration: underline;\">\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 <\/span><\/p>\n<ol start=\"4\">\n<li><strong>\u201cMicro Chip Logic\u201d by John Valentine<\/strong><br \/>\n(The Twilight Zone Movie, 1983)<br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #ffffff; text-decoration: underline;\">\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 <\/span><br \/>\n<a href=\"https:\/\/inalj.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/12\/4-koval.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-medium wp-image-101639\" src=\"https:\/\/inalj.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/12\/4-koval-300x122.jpg\" alt=\"4 koval\" width=\"300\" height=\"122\" srcset=\"https:\/\/inalj.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/12\/4-koval-300x122.jpg 300w, https:\/\/inalj.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/12\/4-koval.jpg 436w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a>John Lithgow takes on the role of John Valentine in this remake of a Twilight Zone classic segment <em>Nightmare at 20,000 feet<\/em>.<br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #ffffff; text-decoration: underline;\">\u00a0 <\/span><br \/>\nA scene:<br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #ffffff; text-decoration: underline;\">\u00a0\u00a0 <\/span><br \/>\nStewardess: \u201c<em>Micro Chip: Logic: The Liberation of the Left Brain, science fiction fan huh<\/em>?\u201d<br \/>\nJohn Valentine: \u201c<em>Textbook, computers<\/em>.\u201d<br \/>\nStewardess: \u201c<em>Do you really read this stuff?<\/em>\u201d<br \/>\nJohn Valentine: \u201c<em>I wrote it<\/em>.\u201d<br \/>\nStewardess: \u201c<em>My goodness. So you did. I tell you what, we will put this away and you try and get some sleep<\/em>.\u201d<br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #ffffff; text-decoration: underline;\">\u00a0\u00a0 <\/span><br \/>\nHerein the stewardess believes that if Mr. Valentine puts his book away he will be more at ease (though John\u2019s source of agitation is flying and the turbulence the plane is experiencing). This exchange speaks to the perceived power of the book.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ol start=\"5\">\n<li>\u201c<strong>The Book of Evil\u201d by Unknown<\/strong><br \/>\n(Saturday the 14th, 1981)<br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #ffffff; text-decoration: underline;\"><br \/>\n<a href=\"https:\/\/inalj.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/12\/5-koval.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft wp-image-101643\" src=\"https:\/\/inalj.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/12\/5-koval-300x225.jpg\" alt=\"5 koval\" width=\"216\" height=\"165\" \/><\/a><\/span>Before the \u201c<em>Scary Movie<\/em>\u201d films were the \u201c<em>Saturday the 14<sup>th<\/sup><\/em>\u201d series spoofing horror movies like <em>Friday the 13th<\/em>.<br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #ffffff; text-decoration: underline;\">\u00a0\u00a0 <\/span><br \/>\nJohn and Mary inherit a house that houses \u201c<em>The Book of Evil<\/em>.\u201d Their son accidentally unleashes the evil depicted in the pages of the book of evil. A theme advocated with this fictional book is book as magic. The calligraphy on the first page reads:<br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #ffffff; text-decoration: underline;\">\u00a0\u00a0 <\/span><br \/>\n\u201c<em>Whoever shall open this book releases into the world all the evil therein<\/em>.\u201d Further pages in the book read \u201c<em>It gets bad on Friday the 13<sup>th<\/sup>. But it gets worse on Saturday the 14<sup>th<\/sup><\/em>.\u201d<br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #ffffff; text-decoration: underline;\">\u00a0\u00a0 <\/span><br \/>\nThe vampire in the story has been searching for the text for 300 years. In the film this \u201clarge old book\u201d has the power to unleash and destroy evil. John and Mary discuss the book and Mary says:<br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #ffffff; text-decoration: underline;\">\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 <\/span><br \/>\n\u201c<em>Maybe it\u2019s a cookbook. You know how I am about my apple turnover recipe<\/em>.\u201d<br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #ffffff; text-decoration: underline;\"><em><br \/>\naaa<\/em><\/span><\/li>\n<li><strong>\u201cThe End of the World\u201d by Milton Angland<\/strong><br \/>\n(Ghostbusters II, 1989)<a href=\"https:\/\/inalj.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/12\/6-koval.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft wp-image-101646\" src=\"https:\/\/inalj.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/12\/6-koval-300x225.jpg\" alt=\"6 koval\" width=\"200\" height=\"153\" \/><\/a>The author predicts on Dr. Peter Venkmen\u2019s show,<em> World of the Psychic, <\/em>that the world will end at the stroke of midnight on New Year\u2019s Eve. This book must be credible as the author is publishing the book and the sales profits will not be in until the world had already ended. If anything one has to respect the honesty of this author.<br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #ffffff; text-decoration: underline;\">\u00a0 <\/span><br \/>\nNo particular book was exhibited to represent \u201c<em>The End of the World<\/em>\u201d by Milton Angland.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><span style=\"color: #ffffff; text-decoration: underline;\">\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/span> <\/span><\/p>\n<ol start=\"7\">\n<li><strong>\u201cA Match Made in Space\u201d by George McFly <\/strong><br \/>\n(Back to the Future, 1985)<br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #ffffff; text-decoration: underline;\"><em>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/em><\/span><br \/>\n<a href=\"https:\/\/inalj.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/12\/7-koval.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft wp-image-101650\" src=\"https:\/\/inalj.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/12\/7-koval-235x300.png\" alt=\"7 koval\" width=\"132\" height=\"166\" \/><\/a>This piece is a science fiction love story. Reasonable speculation leads one determine themes within the text are the myth of romantic love and the myth of technology as protector and savior.<br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #ffffff; text-decoration: underline;\"><em>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/em><\/span><br \/>\nThis book is inspired by George McFly\u2019s experience with an alien (his future son Marty in a radiation suit) one night while in his bedroom awoken in his sleep. Later, McFly\u2019s work went on to become a movie and video-book.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ol start=\"8\">\n<li><strong>\u201cHandbook for the Recently Deceased\u201d from Handbook for the Recently Deceased Publishing<\/strong><br \/>\n(Beetlejuice, 1988)<br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #ffffff; text-decoration: underline;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/inalj.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/12\/8-koval.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft wp-image-101652\" src=\"https:\/\/inalj.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/12\/8-koval-280x300.png\" alt=\"8 koval\" width=\"163\" height=\"174\" srcset=\"https:\/\/inalj.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/12\/8-koval-280x300.png 280w, https:\/\/inalj.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/12\/8-koval.png 356w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 163px) 100vw, 163px\" \/><\/a>\u00a0\u00a0 <\/span><br \/>\nThe movie Beetlejuice provides an interesting text.This handbook was found in the Netherworld waiting room by the recently deceased Adam and Barbara Maitland. According to one character in this film:<br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #ffffff; text-decoration: underline;\">\u00a0\u00a0 <\/span><br \/>\n\u201c<em>It\u2019s all in the Handbook<\/em>.\u201d<br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #ffffff; text-decoration: underline;\">\u00a0\u00a0 <\/span><br \/>\nAnd the Maitland\u2019s netherworld caseworker cites that there is a section in the handbook titled \u201c<em>The Intermediate Interface Chapter on Haunting<\/em>.\u201d<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ol start=\"9\">\n<li><strong>\u201cOld Custer\u201d by Eli Cash<\/strong><br \/>\n(The Royal Tenenbaums, 2001)<br \/>\n<a href=\"https:\/\/inalj.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/12\/9-koval.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft wp-image-101656\" src=\"https:\/\/inalj.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/12\/9-koval-196x300.jpg\" alt=\"9 koval\" width=\"100\" height=\"148\" \/><\/a><span style=\"color: #ffffff; text-decoration: underline;\">\u00a0\u00a0 <\/span><br \/>\nEli Cash played by Owen Wilson wrote a historical fiction novel on the premise that George Custer survived through the Battle of Little Big Horn and recounts his life after that battle.<br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #ffffff; text-decoration: underline;\">\u00a0\u00a0 <\/span><br \/>\nThis is Cash\u2019s second novel. We are given an excerpt from the book:<br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #ffffff; text-decoration: underline;\">\u00a0\u00a0 <\/span><br \/>\n\u201c<em>The crickets and the rust-beetles scuttled among the nettles of the sage thicket. &#8220;V\u00e1monos, amigos,&#8221; he whispered, and threw the busted leather flintcraw over the loose weave of the saddlecock. And they rode on in the friscalating dusklight.<\/em>\u201d<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ol start=\"10\">\n<li><strong>\u201cThe Hobb\u2019s End Horror\u201d by Sutter Cane<\/strong><br \/>\n(In the Mouth Madness, 1994)<br \/>\n<a href=\"https:\/\/inalj.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/12\/10-koval.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft wp-image-101657\" src=\"https:\/\/inalj.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/12\/10-koval-211x300.png\" alt=\"10 koval\" width=\"92\" height=\"127\" \/><\/a>\u00a0<span style=\"color: #ffffff; text-decoration: underline;\">\u00a0 <\/span><br \/>\nAuthor Sutter Kane disappears and his newly published book brings forth the apocalypse, as everything that Mr. Kane writes comes to life.<br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #ffffff; text-decoration: underline;\">\u00a0\u00a0 <\/span><br \/>\nIn the film this book was a bestseller and had people clamoring to get a copy and is also made it to a movie.Thankfully, it was just a fake book in a film!<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><em><a href=\"https:\/\/inalj.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/12\/Andrew-Koval.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft wp-image-101627\" src=\"https:\/\/inalj.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/12\/Andrew-Koval.jpg\" alt=\"Andrew Koval\" width=\"94\" height=\"177\" \/><\/a>Andrew Koval earned his Masters of Science in Library Science from Clarion University of Pennsylvania in 2011. His interest in library work began when he volunteered as a Page at his high school library in 2002. In 2007 he interned with his college library and learned book repair.\u00a0 He has previously worked in public libraries as a youth services intern, library assistant, young adult librarian and library director. Further, he has served as a librarian at a private catholic university where he taught information literacy.
