SEEKING VOLUNTEERS for INALJ

Round 1: Canada Content Editors + Submissions and Formatting Editors (non-Canada)

Seeking volunteers for the following positions in February:

1. Canada Content Editors– unpaid volunteers to format jobs for assigned Canadian provinces – 3 days a week, 1 hr each day.  1 calendar year commitment.
2. Submissions Content Editors– unpaid volunteers to format 30-60 jobs – 2 days a week, 1-1.5 hr each day.  1 calendar year commitment.
3. Formatting Content Editors– unpaid volunteers to format jobs from 8 assigned websites – 3 days a week, 1 hr each day.  1 calendar year commitment.

Hopefully we will have good turnout.  In 2016 we are focusing on our time as the priority in our lives and so many volunteers did not return.  They are off to invest their time and labor (what we do is labor) in other projects and I wish them all the best.  Last year I had a leadership team whose goal was 100% volunteer staffing and retention.  They did a phenomenal job but as in any volunteer organization the turnover was too high and our time was spent more on that then growing the pages.  So in 2016 I wanted to build the team again slowly.

January was returning volunteers only and thus lower jobs numbers.  This February I am starting by filling all the positions for the Canadian pages first.  Also we have positions that are not based in one US state that format jobs sent to us so those positions will be filled in February as well.

This year the team will be built slowly so attention can be given to each volunteer and retention rates stabilized.  INALJ became an expectation over the past few years, an expectation our field has not demanded of their associations but of me.  If you’d like to see a database or larger scale return to jobs pages please do not hesitate to make your interest and demands known to your national associations. They owe you.  I am a private individual.  I am happy to continue sharing jobs but insist on my boundaries being respected.  I plan on continuing through 2016 at this time.
