Lauren graduated from the Library & Information Technician program at Conestoga College in 2013 with the highest mark in the program that year. She focused on a few different areas of interest, Records & Information Management, Metadata and Digital Initiatives, and Library Instruction (Information Literacy & Emergent Technologies). She is currently working as a supply library technician in school libraries and doing a lot of volunteering while searching for regular/full-time employment; she lives in the Region of Waterloo. She is also a certified Teacher-Librarian with a BA in English and Religion & Culture and a BEd, both from Wilfrid Laurier University. Lauren has a passion for advocating the role of Library & Information Technicians in the LIS industry, and for the role of LIS professionals in non-traditional LIS jobs. She also, obviously, loves to hunt for traditional & non-traditional LIS job postings to share with her compatriots. To find out more about Lauren’s experience and skills please visit her LinkedIN profile. When she’s not at work or looking for job postings for INALJ-ON she enjoys reading, writing, writing about reading, video games, text-based roleplay, movies, pixel art, and research. Last year she started blogging about her love of reading at Novel Concepts. She is interested in meeting and getting to know others in the LIS community in Ontario, especially those living and/or working in the Waterloo Region.
